... After Pnumonia

AFTER PNUMONIA: Well back in August 2015 I ended up in Llandough Hospital with Pnumonia. It was no fun being hooked up to machines having drips going in to you for 3 days. Staying in bed or sitting in a chair was no fun for someone who likes to keep busy helping others and volunteering. My legs swelled up and so did my feet. I was looked after very well by the hospital staff, just want to say a huge thank you to them, and to the doctors at Lansdowne Surgery as well for their care. Anyway back home now, itching to get stuck in to things, but am due to have various scans and appointments. Got a scan of my heath comming up, as well as a scan of my abdomen area, a chest x-ray, and a possible scan of my liver too if the blood results come back iffy. I have also got an appointment coming up with Dr Pink (that's the doctor I am seeing for my lung problem) and also with the Chest Pain Clinic. I am still getting chest pains, on ventalin and a spray for my heart, but one bit of good news -

Progress on job front

Even though I am not well, I do still want to do something with my life. A few weeks ago I saw a post saying that Inrix (providers of travel news to radio stations) were looking for someone for Sunday morning. I recorded a demo using the information they supplied, and had a call 'can I pop in for a chat next week' Fingers crossed - hope I get it I will only be working 5 and 3/4 hours a week, but its a step in the right direction, and its using my current skill set.... Customer Service Skills (for answering phones and talking to people) Voice (for presenting travel updates on radio) If I get it, I will be heard on radio stations in the South West of England (including BBC Radio Gloucestershire, BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Radio Devon!)

Car passed its MOT

Well my car has passed its MOT , after a few things needed doing to it. I took it in to National on Cowbridge Road East in Canton. The first being indicator bulb, it was a faded almost clear light when it should have been more orange, another problem I had that needed sorting was the CV joint dust cover which was warn on the driver side. Now I had this done only the week befor at Bowsher's Garage on Cowbridge Road East. I have now set the two garages against each other. I messaged National's customer service team to lodge a complaint with them, also lodged a complaint with Bowsher's. One of them was telling fibs about that part. Bowsher's have no reason to lie to me about not doing the work on my car last week, and neither do National about the problem they said needed doing. Bowsher's did say that a number of National customers have gone accross to them after poor work being carried out.... hmmmmm I'm not sure who to trust or beleive w

Party 2015

Image
Well the festival season has kicked off with Troyfest 2015 at Baskerville Hall Hotel in Powys. I voluntered along with my best friend Neil. It was one amazing festival, and the atmosphere was really great, and the people were really great as well (volunteers, security and festival goers) Then last weekend was my 40th Birthday Weekend - really let my self go for that one (thanks to Neil, Jamie and Skinner for making my 40th one to remember!) Got more festivals to go to as a volunteer, and as interviewer for my show and Bro Radio So far coming up is.... Lunar Festival (volunteer) Nozstock (reporter/interviewer) With the above in mind, I've decided one thing... to live life to its fullest, party and enjoy my self.  With all my aches and pains and other problems, I have to learn to live with them, and not let them dictate what I can do.  I can't live life wrapped up in cotton wool in a box marked fragile, I have to live life out side the box and enjoy it while I can.

Vauxhall Light Bulb Change

Trying to get at my side light bulbs to change them, what a cow of a job - the battery is in the way on one side, and the other side there are pipes in the way.... what a pain! - a friend just said 'take it to a garage' - yeah, right, gonna spend about £20 to change two bulbs that will cost about £1! Website guides says its simple 'twist and pull, change bulb and put back in again' - another says 'Fiddle around inside and try to prize the bulbs out. For this you'll need the hands of an elf and the dexterity of a ninja master' .... lol Job done! - driver side one wasn't a problem after working out which way to 'twist and pull' - passenger side one was more of a job - had to enlist Bill's help - on putting it back in I hurt my wrist, got a nasty mark on it!

Aladdin in Burry Port

Did recording for TV yesterday evening. St Michael's School's production of Aladdin - its hard to believe that the oldest pupil in it was only 11! - it was really amazing - well done to all who put the performance on in Burry Port

Fuel Prices

A few months ago I signed an online petition to get fuel costs down http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/lowerfuel/ Government response The existing rates of fuel duty and the rates applicable through to January 2011 were set and legislated for by the previous Government.  Under plans the coalition Government has inherited fuel duty is scheduled to rise by one pence per litre above indexation each year thereafter until April 2014. It is necessary to implement these increases as dealing with the budget deficit is the single greatest economic challenge this Government faces. Unavoidably, tough decisions are required, but underpinning the Government’s approach is a commitment to fairness. The Government has been clear that the burden of deficit reduction will have to be shared, but the most vulnerable in our society will be protected.
